The Work Requirements for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) course provides Find Food Illinois Navigators with the knowledge and tools needed to help neighbors understand SNAP work requirements and recent policy changes.

Beginning in February 2026, changes to SNAP work requirements affected who is subject to ABAWD requirements and what individuals must do to maintain their benefits. This course explains those changes in a clear and practical way, helping Navigators confidently answer questions, identify potential exemptions, and connect neighbors to the appropriate resources.
