Dr. Nick Seiter discusses current observations of western and northern corn rootworm management in Illinois, with a particular focus on the ongoing development of resistance to Bt traits. This includes a discussion of the northern corn rootworm, which has been observed more frequently in Illinois over the last several years. The relationship of the different Bt proteins and their modes of action are discussed, in addition to recommendations for corn rootworm monitoring and resistance management.
