Nick Seiter, an Assistant Professor and Extension Field Crops Entomologist at the University of Illinois, discusses managing soybean and corn pests in Illinois. He focuses on the green clover worm and bean leaf beetle in soybeans, and the corn rootworm in corn. Seiter highlights the importance of identifying these pests accurately and managing them promptly to protect crops. He also talks about new RNA interference (RNAi) traits for corn rootworm control, resistance to Bt traits, and the need for crop rotation and diverse strategies to manage these pests effectively.
